■ Description
The GE90R Core drill rig is a portable boring machine generally used for diamond core drilling in soil investigation. (Hence, it is also referred to as Core Drill in this manual.) Mounted on a steel drag skid, it consists of a prime mover, a four (4)-speed transmission, hoist, drill head, slide base, hydraulic tank with controls, drag pulleys and a four (4)-pole mast.

Electric-powered core drill rig:

The hoist and the drill head are driven through a four (4)-speed transmission. The hoist drum is a planetary gear type, with wrap-around bands on the brake and clutch. Actuation of the hoist brake and hoist clutch is through over-centre cam hand levers.
The drill head twin hydraulic cylinders provide an infinite selection of feeds and are capable of exerting an upward thrust of 5,580kgf at hydraulic pressure 103bar (105kg/cm²). The drill head can be swivelled for angle drilling.
The hydraulic power is provided by a variable volume vane pump, driven directly by the engine, so that hydraulic power is always available when the engine is running. The maximum operating pressure is 103bar (105kg/cm²). The oil tank has a capacity of 30 litres.
A hydraulic power-activated slide base provides a 370mm drill movement on or off the bore hole. A drag skid and three (3) drag pulleys are provided to facilitate movements between boreholes.
The standard mast is a four (4)-pole type, with its legs anchored onto the drag skid. Bracing is provided at three (3) levels. Lifting height is about 5.6 metres.

2. Diamond Core Drilling
It is suitable for diamond core drilling operations, allowing users to obtain core samples for geological analysis, foundation design and engineering evaluation.

The rig can be used in geotechnical survey projects to investigate ground conditions, soil layers and subsurface structures for construction planning.

■ Features
 1. Portable Drag Skid Design
The GE90R core drill rig is mounted on a strong steel drag skid, making it easy to move between boreholes on construction and investigation sites. The compact skid structure improves site mobility and reduces relocation time.
2. 15 HP Diesel Engine Power
Equipped with a standard 15-horsepower diesel engine, the drilling rig can work independently in outdoor or remote areas where electric power supply is limited. Optional power units are also available according to different project requirements.
3. Four-speed Transmission System
The hoist and drill head are driven through a four-speed transmission, allowing operators to select suitable drilling speeds for different soil investigation and core drilling conditions.
4. Reliable Hoist System
The rig is equipped with a planetary gear hoist drum, wrap-around brake and clutch bands. The hoist brake and clutch are controlled by over-centre cam hand levers, providing stable lifting, lowering and drilling operation.
5. Hydraulic Feed Control
Twin hydraulic cylinders provide smooth and adjustable feed control. The drill head offers flexible feeding force and can generate an upward thrust of up to 5,580 kgf at 103 bar hydraulic pressure.
6. Angle Drilling Capability
The drill head can be swivelled for angle drilling, making the machine suitable for vertical and inclined borehole drilling in geotechnical and engineering investigation projects.
7. Independent Hydraulic Power System
A variable volume vane pump is directly driven by the engine, ensuring hydraulic power is always available when the engine is running. The maximum operating pressure is 103 bar, with a 30-litre hydraulic oil tank.
8. Hydraulic Slide Base
The hydraulic power-activated slide base provides 370 mm drill movement on or off the borehole, making drill alignment, positioning and borehole operation more convenient.
9. Easy Movement Between Boreholes
The machine is equipped with a drag skid and three drag pulleys, helping operators move the rig more easily between drilling positions on site.
10. Four-pole Mast Structure
The standard four-pole mast is securely anchored on the drag skid and reinforced with three levels of bracing. The lifting height is about 5.6 metres, suitable for normal core drilling and soil investigation work.
